Target
Biceps

Sitting for an ez-bar curl removes the leg drive and back lean that creep into standing versions, which is really the whole value of the seated position — it forces the biceps to do the lifting without help from the rest of the body. The bar's bend keeps the wrists in a more natural angle than a straight bar through the curling motion.

How to Do the EZ Barbell Seated Curls

  1. Sit on a bench, feet flat on the floor and back upright.
  2. Take an underhand, palms-up grip on the EZ bar with hands shoulder-width apart.
  3. Let your upper arms rest against your thighs, allowing the bar to hang in front of you.
  4. Without moving your upper arms, exhale and curl the bar up toward your shoulders.
  5. Pause at the top and squeeze the biceps.
  6. Inhale as you lower the bar slowly back down to the start.
  7. Repeat for your planned rep target, maintaining clean technique and steady breathing on every repetition.
