Lever Seated Leg Curl

Category
Upper Legs
Target
Hamstrings

The seated leg curl trains the hamstrings from a hip-flexed position, which stretches the muscle differently than a lying leg curl does with the hips extended. Some lifters feel this angle more directly in the upper hamstring near the glute, making it a useful rotation from the standard lying version.

How to Do the Lever Seated Leg Curl

  1. Set the machine to fit your body and sit with your back against the backrest.
  2. Place your lower legs under the padded lever, just above your ankles.
  3. Grasp the handles on the sides of the machine for support.
  4. Keeping your upper legs stationary, exhale and curl your legs up as far as possible.
  5. Hold the contracted position briefly as you squeeze your hamstrings.
  6. Inhale and slowly lower the lever back to the starting position.
  7. Repeat for your desired repetitions, keeping constant tension on the working muscle throughout.
