Incline Twisting Sit-Up

Doing a twisting sit-up on an incline bench adds resistance from the angle on top of the rotational demand a standard twisting sit-up already places on the obliques. The incline makes the hip flexors work harder too, which is worth knowing if the goal is really the obliques rather than raw difficulty.
How to Do the Incline Twisting Sit-Up
- Adjust an incline bench to a 45-degree angle.
- Lie back on the bench with your feet locked under the foot pads.
- Place your hands behind your head or crossed over your chest.
- Contract your abs to curl your upper body up off the bench.
- As you rise, rotate your torso to one side, bringing that elbow toward the opposite knee.
- Pause momentarily at the top, then lower your upper body back down slowly.
- Perform the same curl again, twisting toward the other side this time.
- Keep alternating sides for the desired number of repetitions.
