Barbell Wrist Curl V. 2
- Category
- Lower Arms
- Equipment
- Barbell
- Target
- Forearms
This variation on the wrist curl usually changes hand position or where the forearm rests, but the target stays the same — forearm flexors doing repetitive, small-range work. Because the range of motion is so short, cheating the rep by involving the elbow is easy to do without noticing, so keeping the forearms pinned against a bench or the thighs matters more than the load. It's a finisher, not a lift to build a session around.
How to Do the Barbell Wrist Curl V. 2
- Sit on a bench with your feet flat on the ground and your knees bent.
- Hold a barbell with an underhand grip, palms facing up, and your hands shoulder-width apart.
- Rest your forearms on your thighs, allowing your wrists to hang off the edge.
- Slowly curl your wrists upward, bringing the barbell towards your forearms.
- Pause for a moment at the top, then slowly lower the barbell back down to the starting position.
- Repeat for the desired number of repetitions.
