Hanging Straight Leg Hip Raise
- Category

- Equipment
- Body Weight
- Target
- Abs
Keeping the legs straight while raising the hips demands more hip flexor and ab strength than a bent-knee version, since the longer lever arm makes the same range of motion considerably harder. It's a stepping stone between a bent-knee hanging raise and a full hanging pike.
How to Do the Hanging Straight Leg Hip Raise
- Hang from a pull-up bar with your arms fully extended and your palms facing away from you.
- Engage your core and lift your legs up in front of you until they are parallel to the ground.
- Pause for a moment at the top, then slowly lower your legs back down to the starting position.
- Repeat for the desired number of repetitions.
